How We Started
Heny started teaching cake decorating in their condo home in Valle Verde Pasig in 1985. At the same time, she was accepting orders for cake and other baked products from friends and relatives. Over the years, business grew and she continued to hone her skills by studying in local schools and abroad.
Upon returning from her studies at various Culinary Schools in the USA in November 1987, she and her husband Benny set up a single proprietary business - the Heny Sison School of Cake Decorating and Baking. The following year they set up the school in the garage of her Aunt in Greenhills.
The clientele grew rapidly, the school's reputation drew positive market recognition and Heny Sison was known as the Wedding Cake Maker of Style and Elegance. Heny was becoming a Culinary celebrity with a regular TV guesting stints and features in articles in widely-circulated newspapers & trade magazines.
By 1994, Heny decided to add various Cooking courses and needed a bigger space to serve the growing clientele, thus school the Heny Sison Culinary School was born. |
